2015 Rosé Russian River Valley
“This is knockout, a bone dry rosé with aromas and flavors of watermelon, strawberry and mineral. It finishes crisp, with a lingering note of strawberry.” – Peg Melnik | July 4, 2016
“This dry rosé is drawn from an old-vine Syrah vineyard in the heart of the Russian River Valley and is best enjoyed in its youth.” – David Ramey
Bone-dry, crisp, and refreshing; pairs with a wide variety of foods and flavors.
Winter 2015 was the warmest on record, leading to early budbreak. But, cooler, wetter weather in the Spring months slowed development, leading to an extended bloom period. The resulting uneven fruit set meant a smaller crop and smaller berries with good concentration of flavors. Weather throughout the Summer growing season was consistently warm, promoting even ripening and an early harvest.
Native yeast, non-malolactic fermentation and sur lies aged in stainless steel barrels for three months.
